what's up?

huppity do-dah

my schedule has been so insane lately. i'm just tired. so its a good thing they are making me take time off at work next week, right? really only because i've got too many hours saved up and its the end of the year. short notice, and my better half has to work, so what the h am i going to do for a week?

i guess i can get around to doing some backups and doing some end of the year copyright filing. anything but go to the mall, if i can help it. maybe i'll drive up to the bob's big boy show in burbank next friday. probably just a bunch of rich white guy cars.

------

i have several pics ready to post; just haven't been home to post them. so, finally, here's one from the whittier uptown show. don't see these hupmobiles very often. if i look through my files, i probably just keeping the same one in different places.

they're different looking. and there's that fragile looking hood ornament.

nighty night

got out of my house late in the day. forgot how early the sun sets now. by the time i got to the latin gents show, sun was fully down and the lot lights were on.

gotta deal with long exposures, weird shadows thrown across the cars, and people wandering through the shots. true, there weren't so many cars by this time, so fewer people, but there were a few kids chasing each other. cause to mess up a few shots, as well as worry about knocking the camera over.

anyway, most people stayed out of my way, so thank you.

i haven't been shooting much at night since i bought the new cameras. don't really think they work as nice as my old cameras. too late now, one is retired, and the other gifted to my sister-in-law. she's a big nascar fan, so works well enough for her.

this was the first shot of the night. beautiful car. picture is a little darker and noisier than i would like, but it's ok.

shaggin’ wagon

getting ready to head over to the latin gents' monthly show. going to shoot some sunset pics for a change. then maybe dinner at disneyland. by myself. single-rider pass on a ride or two maybe. better half staying home playing with a camera, and then going to the market, supposedly.

hoping to get up early and drive out to pomona in the morning. doesn't look like rain at all. probably next week, when mooneyes happens.

----

saw this wagon up at the end of the street at the old memories ela veteran's day show. was still getting shined up the first time i wandered past. fortunately, i went up and down the street a few times.

pretty car. not quite positive about the year. that's typical. sometimes, people actually send an email and let me know. sometimes, i won't even guess.

green with touches of red—that's about as xmasy as i'm going to get. i think i'll print it out and hang it with others on my cube walls at work.

chopped liver

saw this and thought, "wtf?" it is interesting. the seat must be down on the floor to drive it, no?

----

got my test results back. they found nothing, but there is something going on. i can opt for a second opinion, someone else who will ask for more tests, or just wait and see. i think i'll wait a bit. i'm really tired of the vampires taking my blood every few months anyway.

going fishing?

this is the second time i've seen an old chevy with a fishing pole attached. is it a thing? maybe it used to be a thing back in ye olde times? pretty sure they aren't going fishin' after the car show.

other than that, love the car. even the pinstripes.

----

bo huff was a pretty good show. i'd recommend getting up before the sun rises to find a good parking place. weather was perfect; sunny, clear skies, no breeze to blow my hat off my head, a zillion cars.

today it's sprinkling. glad i'm not driving home from thanksgiving vacation anywhere. but if it really gets raining, it will screw up the morning drive pretty good tomorrow. so yay.

happy dance

got up early and drove to riverside today. as usual, not early enough.

did not know the bo huff show was going to have as many cars as there were. we left after noon, got something to eat down the street, and still saw old cars heading for the show. so i'm busy sorting them and trying to figure out which are my favs. no one really talked to me, so there aren't any i promised to do for a change.

so for now, posting this one from st hilary's in september. early, empty parking lot. overcast skies and wonky trees. and a fleetline. happy dance.

fun land?

so the beginning of the holidays. so the beginning of my annual crap attitude. don't know why. just don't care about the holidays anymore. just want to hide until they are over.

but i do like the time off. i have so many deadlines at work right now. thought about logging on and getting some of it out of the way, but decided not my fault they are letting all that work pile up; i was going to have a long weekend too. i'll be stressed out on monday, but oh well.

anyway, i've spent a couple of days watching game of thrones again. relatives are visiting, and they've put up the tree and wrapped the zillion lights on the branches. they're all helping my mother-in-law throw up christmas all over the house. i don't even want to go shopping.

nice truck. don't think i've seen it before. i really just liked how it looked from here.

still trying to figure out why, or is it how, that business could be called childrens dental fun land. some of those words just don't jive together. or if i let my imagination run...for starters, i envision slides and bounce houses with dentists chasing kids with pointy instruments; maybe closer to a stephen king novel, with dentists instead of clowns...
